Implementing Distance Learning during COVID-19 in Morocco: Pedagogical Gains, Challenges, and Leaners’ Attitudes

Due to the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, teachers and students in Morocco elsewhere were forced move from face-to-face instruction distance learning. Consequently, a plethora online platforms, including Google Classroom, Meet, Microsoft Teams, WhatsApp, video communication applications, used as instructional tools. In light this, current study investigates pedagogical gains implementing learning via Teams during pandemic challenges participants encountered. It also probes English Foreign Language (EFL) learners’ attitudes toward effectiveness this mode instruction. The population was 28 secondary school who taught courses distantly for eight weeks. A post-questionnaire collect quantitative data. findings revealed that most identified two benefits: ability learn at home flexible time. As challenges, admitted having no or poor network signal, connectivity their devices, technical problems related reduced interaction with peers, Besides, analysis 5-point Likert scale survey indicated while somehow motivated attend courses, they expressed discomfort, considered be more effective than learning, thus unsatisfied experience had intentions future use. result, displayed negative implementation
